Nurse Margaret “Peggy” Hensley, FNPC, shared the idea behind creating a red light therapy facility in Santa Anna. “A patient told me about her use of red light and I sort of blew it off”, Hensley said. “Then another patient told me her chiropractor had prescribed it, and it cured her foot pain. In researching for myself, as my husband and I are approaching “old” with our own aches and pains, I found the information enlightening. In recent published studies from 2022 and 2023, red light therapy was found to promote mitochondrial health and increase nitrous oxide, meaning red light therapy enhances energy to the cells. This enhanced energy to a group of cells (muscle, brain, gut, etc.) can motivate a cell’s own repair system.”
The Hensley Clinic is offering red light therapy to anyone who wants to try it out and see for themselves what it can do for chronic pain, wound and injury healing and the improvement of skin tone and decreased wrinkles.
“My husband has significant back inflammation – arthritis- and sought specialists and shots,” Hensley shared. “So he was game to give it a try and in a few short weeks of daily use, his back, while it will never be cured, was a lot better, and he was more functional. So why not? My little Dachshund, Sugar, even got red light therapy when she had surgery at Coleman Vet Clinic. I want to be able to do something besides prescribe a pill. In 1975 an Austrian Jesuit Priest named Ivan Illich wrote a book called Medical Nemesis, about how the medical system can make people sick – all the pills and shots. Why not feel better and improve our health with diet and light? Both are natural.”
To celebrate the opening of the therapy facility at Hensley Clinic, a holiday special is offered. Fifty dollars gets you an initial consultation and five sessions under the light.
