HOOPS ROUNDUP: May boys and girls, Zephyr boys and girls, Brookesmith boys notch tournament wins

ZEPHYR – The May Tigers opened the Zephyr tournament Thursday with two victories – 52-20 over Mullin and 58-9 against Priddy.

Against Mullin, the Tigers led 20-0 after one quarter, 37-6 at halftime, and 49-14 through three periods.

Ben Harrell scored a team-high 11 points for the Tigers trailed by nine from Brody Stice and seven from J.D. White.

Against Priddy, May was in front 17-0 after one quarter, 32-5 at halftime, and 50-6 heading into the fourth period.

Stice recorded a team-best 13 points followed by Harrell with 11 and White with eight points.

The Tigers (5-2) are back in action Friday.

May Lady Tigers 56, Lometa 13

ZEPHYR – The May Lady Tigers picked up their 10th win in their first game at the Zephyr tournament Thursday, upending Lometa, 56-13.

May led 6-3 after one quarter, 23-3 at halftime, and 39-6 after three periods.

Chloe Lord led the way with 12 points followed by 10 from Mia Musick, eight each from McKenna Landes, Kenleigh Williford and Estrella Bustamante, six from Jordyn Gerhardt, and two each from Holli Brown and Kenlyn King.

The Lady Tigers (10-2) are back in action Friday.
