SAN ANGELO – Fresh off the Dublin tournament championship and three victories in four outings, the Brownwood Lions were unable to sustain their momentum as they suffered a 78-61 road loss to San Angelo Lake View Tuesday.
In the first game with the addition of football players, the Lions (3-7) trailed 29-19 after one quarter, 39-33 at halftime, and 59-45 after three periods.
Casey Friebel and Ike Hall led the Lions with 19 points apiece trailed by Carson Noe with six, Morsello Hooker with five, Aaron Edmonds with four, Austin Pittman and Weston Wolf with three each, and Hayden Noe with two points.
Brownwood will be back in action at the Brady tournament Thursday through Saturday. The Lions face Llano at 4 p.m. Thursday, the Abilene High JV at 7 p.m. Thursday, Blanco at 1 p.m. Friday, and Grape Creek at 7 p.m. Friday in pool play and conclude action Saturday with a seeding game.
