The Brownwood Kiwanis Club presented Jesse Mendoza with a plaque in recognition of his service to the organization as club president for 2022 – 2023. The award was given to Mendoza at the organization’s most recent meeting held on November 9 at the Brownwood Country Club.
Jesse has served on the Brownwood Kiwanis Board of Directors for several years before being elected president. In that capacity he led weekly meetings of the members as well as presided over board meetings. He also led the efforts of the Kiwanis Pancake Supper in 2022 and was instrumental in the most recent fundraiser held on November 7.
“Jesse’s servant leadership is appreciated by all of our members and our community in general” said newly-elected president Matt Williams. “He is a great example of dedication and service and we are thankful for his contribution as president and look forward to him continuing as a member of the board.”
Jesse is a senior vice president and chief operations officer at Citizens National Bank. Jesse has over 40 years of banking experience in compliance, loans, and operations. Since moving to Brownwood, he has become invested in the community. He is involved in the Central Texas Veterans Memorial, Brownwood Country Club Golf Association and is a member of the Texas Association of Sports Officials Football Referee and past President of the Permian Basin Football Chapter. Jesse has been calling Texas High School Football for over 25 years.
“I’m just so thankful for this organization,” Mendoza said. “Since I have moved here, this group has just welcomed me in and made me feel right at home. I am very appreciative of my time as president.”
