The District 2-4A Division I champion Brownwood Lions will enter the postseason with their highest ranking of the season, according to Dave Campbell’s Texas Football, as they’ve climbed to No. 6 in the Class 4A Division I poll prior to the bi-district round the playoffs.
The Lions (9-1), who are coming off a Week 11 bye, host San Elizario (2-7) at 6 p.m. Thursday at Gordon Wood Stadium in the Region I-4A Division I bi-district round of the playoffs. The game will be the seventh at home for Brownwood this season, and first home playoff game for the Lions since 2006 when they defeated both Ennis and Lake Dallas at Gordon Wood Stadium.
The rest of Monday’s 4A Division I Top 10 features No. 1 Boerne (9-1), No. 2 Anna (9-1), No. 3 Kilgore (3-1), No. 4 Iowa Colony (10-0), No. 5 Stephenville (8-2), No. 7 China Spring (7-3), No. 8 Frisco Panther Creek (9-1), No. 9 Bay City (7-3) and No. 10 Celina (9-1).
Brownwood, which had previously peaked at No. 7 in the rankings on two separate occasions, is again the only Region I team to appear in the DCTF 4A Division I Top 10.
