Sales tax allocations for the month of October were released this week by the Texas Comptroller’s Office. The City of Brownwood received an increased allocation vs. October 2022, while the City of Early and the City of Bangs allocations were down. October sales tax allocations reflect taxable retail sales in August 2023. Details below. (October is the first month of the new fiscal year for all three cities.)
CITY OF BROWNWOOD
The City of Brownwood received $577,828 in October, up 5.31% compared to October 2022. The Brownwood Municipal Development District received $191,486, up 6.11% vs. October 2022.
CITY OF EARLY
The City of Early received $219,653 in October, down 3.25% compared to October 2022. The Early Municipal Development District received $72,434, down 2.29% vs. October 2022.
CITY OF BANGS
The City of Bangs received $19,328 in October, down 3.97% compared to October 2022. The Bangs Municipal Development District received $2,921, down 6.89% vs. October 2022.
