The Brownwood Police Department issued the following press release Thursday morning:
On Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at approximately 1 p.m. officers were dispatched to a south Brownwood residence regarding a report of Criminal Mischief.
When officers arrived, they met with the adult female victim who explained that she has been staying with her boyfriend at his home in the 1800 block of Dallas Street for several months. This morning, an argument began when she informed him of her intent to end the relationship. Her boyfriend, 32-year-old Landon James Calhoon, became angry and used a baseball bat to break all the windows and lights to her vehicle. The damage was estimated at over $5,000.
Officers met with Calhoon on Dallas Street and continued their investigation. They also located the vehicle and items of evidence. Calhoon was arrested for Criminal Mischief and when searching his pant pockets prior to transport they located a glass pipe commonly used to smoke Methamphetamine. A good amount of residual substance was present on the pipe.
Calhoon was transported to the Brown County jail and charged with Criminal Mischief between $2,500 and $30,000 and Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Drug Free Zone.
