Sandra Kay Johnson, 70, of Brownwood, Texas passed away Monday, September 11, 2023. A visitation with family will be held Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at Heartland Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Funeral service will be Thursday, September 14, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Grosvenor, Texas.

Sandra was born November 19, 1952 in Brownwood, Texas to Bessie (Hamlett) and Arthur Johnson. She graduated from Brownwood High School and loved the Brownwood Lions sports. Sandra went to work for the Medical Arts Hospital in Brownwood and worked there for 45 years seeing it become Brownwood Regional and retiring shortly before it became Hendricks Hospital. She enjoyed her job and loved her co-workers. Sandra was a kind hearted gentle soul who her sister says could be very fisty at times when it was needed. She like to cross-stitch and looked forward to working the parades with the runaway stagecoach. Sandra attended services at the First Baptist Church in Bangs and almost never missed a Sunday. She made friends everywhere she went and carried many of those friendships throughout her lifetime. Sandra was the social person who would call and stay in touch with everybody. She was very close to her sister, Sylvia and her mother, Bessie. Bessie and Sandra were inseparable, where you seen one, the other was somewhere near and the same was true for Sandra and Sylvia. Sandra loved her kitten, Mr. Whiskers as her child and spent all of her time at home spoiling him. Sandra loved to vacation and thoroughly enjoyed Disneyland and going on a cruise with her sister. She loved life and got along with everyone.

Sandra is survived by her sister, Sylvia Hochmann and husband Rick of Bangs, Texas; her furry child, Mr. Whiskers; a friend she loved like a 2nd mother, Jean Wallace; special friend, Margarette Collier; several cousins; and her furry nieces, Bonnie & Bagel Hochmann of Bangs; and many friends and loved ones.

Sandra was preceded in death by her mother, Bessie Hamlett; brother, Gayland Johnson.

Sylvia and Jean would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Narendra Nigalye, Dr. David Morales, nurses, Randi and Curtis and all of the nurses on the east 4th floor & Interim Hospice for their care and love of Sandra during this time.

Online condolences can be shared with the family at www.heartlandfuneralhome.net
