Early (1-1) generated 273 yards of total offense – 178 passing and 95 rushing – against Tolar (2-0), but committed four turnovers including three interceptions.
Griffin Cheslock rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown while Kaleb Ozuna chipped in 11 yards on the ground.
Three different Longhorns took a snap behind center as Justin Pierce was 11 of 22 for 102 yards and two picks, Rohyn Price went 5 of 7 for 62 yards, and Weston Barton completed 2 of 8 passes for 14 yards with an interception.
Andrew Reedy led the way with five receptions for 47 yards trailed by Reece Middleton with four for 45 yards, Barton with three for 19, Ki Houston with two for 42, Price with two for 6, Ozuna with one for 14, and Ben Bleth with one grab for 6 yards.
On the defensive side for Early, Houston returned an interception for a touchdown and also collected three tackles. Izik Delgado led the team with eight takedowns followed by Brooks Clippinger with five and Ozuna and Dalton Adams with four apiece.
Next week, the Longhorns return home to host Comanche (2-0), which is coming off a 70-0 victory over Bangs, a team Early defeated, 52-10, in Week 1.
