BRONTE – The Bangs Lady Dragons won two of three matches Saturday to conclude action at the Bronte volleyball tournament.
The Lady Dragons picked up wins over Reagan County (25-15, 25-14) and Sterling City (25-21, 25-19), with a loss to Water Valley (25-22, 25-20).
In the win over Reagan County standouts were Joey Newton with 2 assists and 1 dig; Neeley Bradley with 7 aces, 6 kills, 4 assists and 4 digs; Kasey Solis with 1 kill and 2 digs; Julianna Ethridge with 5 aces, 12 receiving attempts, and 14 digs; Emily Baker with 3 aces and 1 dig; Ava Boren with 3 kills, 3 assists and 1 dig; Dyan McCurdy with 1 ace; Cloey Petty with 5 digs; Kirsten Poling with 2 digs; and Jadyn Miller with 1 ace, 9 kills, 4 receiving attempts and 3 digs.
Leading the way against Sterling City were Newton with 3 assists, 2 receiving attempts, and 6 digs; Bradley with 3 aces, 9 kills, 7 assists, and 4 digs; Raylee Hutchins with 3 kills; Solis with 1 kill; Ethridge with 1 ace, 18 receiving attempts and 14 digs; Baker with 1 ace, 1 kill and 3 digs; Boren with 1 ace, 3 kills, 3 assists and 1 dig; Petty with 2 aces and 6 digs; and Miller with 2 aces, 5 kills and 15 digs.
Numbers against Water Valley included Newton with 1 assist, 7 receiving attempts and 4 digs; Bradley with 3 aces, 6 kills, 6 assists and 5 digs; Solis with 1 block assist; Ethridge with 9 receiving attempts and 15 digs; Baker with 3 aces and 1 block assist; Boren with 2 kills, 6 assists and 2 digs; Petty with 7 receiving attempts and 2 digs; and Miller with 6 kills, 18 receiving attempts and 10 digs.
