ABILENE – The Brownwood Lady Lions placed fourth in the silver bracket at the Abilene Bev Ball tournament, posting a 1-2 record Saturday for the second consecutive day.
The Lady Lions began the day with a two-set victory over San Angelo Lake View, were upended by Clyde in the bracket semifinals, then fell to Plainview in the third-place match.
“The girls played hard today,” said Lady Lions first-year head coach Cheyanne Lovelady. “We have several things to work on Monday in practice. I think we need some confidence, I’ve been pushing the girls hard these past two weeks and they are already showing so much improvement. We are making a lot of mistakes right now, but they’re being coachable and improving every day. I’m very proud of them and can’t wait to see how far they come.”
