RepublicanCandidatesForumTwo local Republican groups will offer political forums this week prior to the start of early voting in the upcoming Republican Primary Election.

The first will be Monday, February 10th at 7 PM at Adams Street Community Center in Brownwood, 510 E. Adams.  The forum, organized by Brown County Republican Women’s Club, will include county candidates.

All local candidates running in the Republican Primary have been invited to participate.  Each will be given 3 minutes to state who they are, why they are running and what changes they would like to implement.  Voters will have an opportunity to submit written questions for the candidates where there is more than one running for the office.

The second forum is scheduled for Thursday, February 13th at 6 PM at the Ranger College, 300 Early Blvd., on the backside of the Heartland Mall.  Candidates in both local and state Republican Primary races have been invited and most have confirmed representation.  The Pecan Valley Republican Women are organizing this event.

Each candidate will be allowed a few minutes to introduce themselves and briefly state why they feel they should be elected.  Each candidate in contested races will be asked a few questions and given the opportunity to express views or plans concerning those issues.  Questions can be submitted in writing and will be screened and given to Leland Acker who will be asking the questions to the candidates.

Unopposed candidates that attend will be given a minute to introduce themselves and state what position they are running for but will not be asked questions because of time constraints.
