- On Sunday, May 28, at approximately 9:15 a.m., Deputy Scotty Burke was dispatched to CR 267. This was in reference to the attempted theft of a motor vehicle. Contact was made with an individual who advised the feed truck for the ranch had been moved from the barn and was now stuck in the field. The individual also advised numerous hand tools had been taken from the barn storage room and were now in the bed of the truck. A possible suspect was named.
- On Tuesday, May 30, at 10:30 a.m., Deputy Ricky Herring was dispatched to the front lobby of the Brown County Law Enforcement Center, 1050 W. Commerce. This was in reference to a terroristic threat, which occurred earlier in the week. Upon my arrival information was gathered, and a report was taken.
- On Tuesday, May 30, at approximately 11:13 a.m., Deputy Ira Smith responded to FM 586. This was for a medical call. Upon arrival, a male was discovered deceased inside the residence.
- On Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at approximately 2:15 p.m., Deputy Scotty Burke was dispatched to the Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood ER, Crockett Dr. in Brownwood. This was in reference to a deceased person report and investigation. Burke met with ER staff, who advised a male subject had been brought to the ER by ambulance, after being unresponsive at an address in May. Efforts were made by ER staff to revive the male subject but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead by the ER doctor.
- On Tuesday, May 30, Sgt. Andre Smoot responded to livestock near the roadway of Highway 183 S. Once on scene, 5 black cattle were discovered. Attempts were made to locate an owner and Mills County, due to how close the cattle were to the county line, but no cattle owner was located. An on-call cowboy was contacted, and the 5 cattle were Estrayed and secure at the livestock pins located at the Brown County Sheriff’s Office.
- On Tuesday, May 30, Deputy Ira Smith responded to Whispering Oaks Ln. This was for a reported assault.
- On Tuesday, May 30, Deputy Toby Mathis conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for expired registration. The driver was identified and had been issued citations for numerous traffic violations previously involving the vehicle and his driver license status. The driver was placed in custody for the same traffic violations. An arrest report was made.
- On Tuesday, May 30, Deputy John Geis was dispatched to issue a Criminal Trespass Warning. A complainant said she wanted to issue a Criminal Trespass Warning to her ex-husband because he was going to her house at CR 564 and causing issues. Information was gathered, the Criminal Trespass Warning was issued, and a report was made.
