Drummond started the event with a round of 77 Monday which landed him in third place, just two shots off the lead. On Tuesday, he posted a 79 for a 156 composite score – three strokes behind the championship pace.
Chester’s Will Thomason won the individual state championship with a 153 after rounds of 78 and 75, while Kenny Arnett of D’Hanis (75-79=154) was the silver medalist.
Also competing in the tournament was May’s Mikey Scheriger, who finished with a 190 composite score after rounds of 94 Monday and 96 Tuesday. Scheriger finished tied for 47th place as an individual.
Wildorado won the team state championship with a 694 score followed by silver medalist Borden County (705) and bronze medalist Springlake Earth (709).
Drummond, the son of Howard Payne University golf coach Troy Drummond, will continue his athletic and academic career at HPU.
