The Brownwood Garden Club members are busily working on two projects: the Veteran’s Memorial Blue Star flower beds and the Annual Plant Sale.
The club met the first week of May to rejuvenate the beds at the memorial park, pruning the winter damage away and adding new plants and fertilizer. Club members take great pleasure in honoring our veterans in this small way in time for Memorial Day.
A large part of funding for their projects, such as the Veteran’s flower beds, Valentine bud vases and Christmas poinsettias for local nursing homes, and local service donations, come from the annual plant sale. Members propagate plants from seeds and cuttings all year to share with the public in the fund raiser. This year’s plant sale is Saturday, May 20, 9:00-1:00, in the parking lot adjacent to Trans-Texas Tire (the old Bank of America parking lot on the corner of Main and Broadway.) Come out to support the club and our community. Information will be available if you would like to join the Brownwood Garden Club when we start the 2023-2024 year in September.
