SALSA, the Strategic Alliance for Leadership and Social Action, will bring a variety of additions to the Cinco de Mayo Downtown Celebration, Saturday, May 6.
Over the span of an entire city block, SALSA will be preparing and selling delicious mouth-watering fajitas, jugos Mexicanos (beverages), SALSA t-shirts, and playing Mexican Loteria games with prizes awarded to winners. There will also be a “best homemade salsa” contest.
A 50-50 raffle will definitely have a happy winner who, with a single ticket, can win half of the money raised from the total number of tickets sold, which is expected to yield hundreds of dollars from the thousands of people expected to attend.
For the third year in a row, SALSA will award thousands of dollars in scholarships to 10 lucky applicants selected from students attending Brownwood, Bangs and Early high schools.
SALSA may even strike up an impromptu street dance later in the evening for anyone who likes Mexican music. A DJ will be ready to go! SALSA’s block will feature something for everyone!
