The Howard Payne University men’s golf team was led by a top ten finish from Kyle Anderson ending in a seventh overall finish for the Yellow Jackets at the 2023 American Southwest Conference Golf Championship held at the Oak Wing Golf Club this week.
The Yellow Jackets shot an 884 (296-293-295) over three rounds to finish seventh at the 2023 ASC men’s golf championship. The team broke the school record for Low 54-Hole Total, the previous record was 886 set in the spring of 2019 at the ERAU Spring Invite at Antelope Hills South CC in Prescott, Arizona.
HPU’s Kyle Anderson finished T-9th with a 217 (71-67-79). Anderson was third in Par 3 Scoring at 2.92 (-1) while also scoring an Eagle during the tournament.
Harrison Hopson was T-25th with a 224 (79-73-72), and Lucas Kinkade was T-27 with a 225 (73-78-74).
Kaleb Brown shot a 228 (75-75-78) to finish T-34th and also Jake Angerstein finished with a 228 (77-78-73) to end T-34th. Brady Nelson was T-44th with a 233 (79-78-76).
