As of 1:20 p.m. Monday, first responders were still at the scene of the Vine Street Underpass, where a BNSF work truck had gotten itself wedged into the tunnel underneath the railroad tracks.
The truck was headed northwest toward downtown Brownwood when it became lodged inside the concrete structure. To remove the vehicle, air was released from the tires, which lowered it and allowed for it to pulled back.
Crews were on at the site inspecting for any potential structural damage, and the work truck had not yet been removed. The Vine Street Underpass will be closed for a while longer, according to officials on the scene.
