The All Pro Tour (APT) will be back in Brownwood, Texas to partner with Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood (HMCB) for Birdie’s on the Bayou. Birdies on the Bayou is presented by HMCB with all proceeds benefiting the Women’s and Children’s Services and will feature over 150 of the best PGA hopefuls competing at Brownwood Country Club.
“We are looking forward to an exciting week in Brownwood. We have a strong field, and Brownwood CC always yields a lot of birdies, but it makes for an exciting event because no lead is safe. We are grateful to Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood for their efforts to make the APT pros feel welcome and are happy to help raise money for the Women’s and Children’s center,” said Gary DeSerrano, President of All Pro Tour.
The 2nd annual Birdie’s on the Bayou will be held April 12th – 15th, 2023 at Brownwood Country Club. The week will include a pro-am event, a long drive competition, clinics, and a 72-hole championship finishing on Saturday, April 15th. The tournament purse is expected to be $130,000 with the tournament champion taking home a guaranteed minimum of $20,000.
In 2022, HMCB Foundation was named the nonprofit host for the APT Pro-Am and Professional Tournament that is annually held at Brownwood Country Club. Due to the support of sponsors, the event was rebranded the “Birdies on the Bayou Golf Tournament and Circle B Bar Ranch Pro-Am” and raised more than $100,000 in the first year to support local Women’s and Children’s healthcare services. The success of the 2022 tournament paid for the immediate expansion/renovation of the two pediatric suites, which will allow parents to stay in the room, 24/7, with their hospitalized child. Sponsorships and donations also served as the initial investment in a construction project which will see a full redesign of the entire Women’s & Children’s center at HMCB.
“Brown County is an incredibly special place – filled with people who are overflowing with hospitality and a deep love for their neighbors. This tournament is an opportunity to welcome new friends through the pro tournament and to raise crucial funds that will help us expand healthcare services to even more local women and children in this community,” said Brad Benham, Hendrick Health Vice President, Foundation.
