The Early Fire Department issued the following press release Wednesday morning:
On Tuesday, April 4 at 3:56 p.m. the Early Fire Department was dispatched to a Structure Fire on CR 372. While responding, dispatch advised this would be a barn fire that will be fully involved with a house nearby. At this time Brownwood, Blanket and Zephyr Fire Departments were requested Mutual Aid and Brown County Precinct 3 was requested for a Tanker. Chief 8 of the Early FD arrived on scene at 4:09 p.m. to find a medium sized barn with heavy fire and exposures near by. A defensive fire attack with exposure protection was established immediately upon arrival and at 4:53 p.m. the fire was brought under control. The barn was a total loss and is still under investigation by County Fire Marshal Buddy Preston. The Brown County Sheriff’s Office, AMR Ambulance Service and Zephyr Water Supply also responded.
