COMANCHE – The Early Longhorns picked up their fourth consecutive District 8-3A baseball victory and are alone in second place in the league standings following Tuesday’s 15-1 road victory over Comanche.
Early (9-5, 4-1) scored six runs iin the top of the second inning and seven more in the sixth, and also added single runs in the third and fifth frames.
The Longhorns finished with 13 hits led by four from each from Jeremy Brown and Caleb McCullough, two by Ki Houston, and one each by Cooper Jacobs, Caydon Laird and Riley Hill. Brown also drove in a team-best four runs while Houston and McCullough chipped in two RBIs apiece and Sebastian Constancia, J.D. Nowell and Gavin Sanders drove in runs as well.
Ethan Pallette gave up one run on five hits with four strikeouts, while Sanders pitched two scoreless and hitless innings and fanned two Comanche (5-8-1, 1-4) batters.
The Longhorns head to Eastland Friday night.
