BANGS – The Bangs Dragons began their District 7-2A baseball slate with a 16-6 victory over May Monday.
Bangs (9-4-2, 1-0) led 3-1 after one inning and 7-1 after two, but May (0-1 in district) crept within 7-5 after three innings. The Dragons then erupted for nine runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and the Tigers mustered just one more run in the fifth.
The Dragons finished with 10 hits led by two and a pair of RBIs from both Ethan Ethridge and Brayden Fields; two and an RBI from Hunter Crowell; one and two RBIs apiece from Skylar Minshew and Hunter Newton; one and one RBI from Guy Powell; and one hit from Weston Jundt.
Zack Ferguson, who picked up the win, Ethridge and Jundt combined to allow four earned runs on one hit with three strikeouts and eight walks.
