The Brownwood Lions scored seven runs in the bottom of the third inning and Luke Gray tossed in a shutout in Friday night’s 9-0 victory over the Perryton Rangers in the Brown County tournament at Morris Southall Field.

Gray gave up just two hits, struck out seven and walked two batters on the mound for Brownwood (3-1), which won its second game in a row.

Offensively, the Lions tallied 12 hits led by Owen Huntsinger and Justin Valdez with two apiece and Case Markham, Gavin Brandstetter, Noah Gonzalez, Cameron Harte, Taylor Bessent, Cole Miller, Logan Posey and David Turner with one each.

Brownwood will close the tournament with a doubleheader Saturday against Jacksboro and Jim Ned beginning at 12:30 p.m.
