The Brownwood Fire Department issued the following press release Monday morning:
At 3:09 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, the Brownwood Fire Department responded to a structure fire at Carnegie and Wilson streets.
Chief 9, Chief 92, Truck 9, Engine 9, Engine 92, and Engine 93 arrived on scene, assisted by the Early Fire Department, Lifeguard EMS, Oncor, Atmos, and the Brownwood Police Department.
Units were on scene for 5 hours and 28 minutes as it took 90 minutes to get the fire under control.
The fire caused an estimated $100,000 in damage, and the cause and origin of the fire are sill under investigation.
