On Monday, the Stars of Texas Juried Art Exhibit begin its week-long showcase of art demonstrators displaying their techniques at the Depot Civic Center, located at 600 E. Depot Street.
Demonstrations are held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday, and Monday’s artists included Jarvis Green displaying Video, Graphics and Multimedia; Molly Gore displaying Encaustics; and R.J. Barnett displaying Watercolor.
The rest of the list of demonstrators includes:
- Tuesday – Krista Womack, Pyrography; Christine Brisley, Palette Knife; Stephanie Cox, Oil Paintings
- Wednesday – Susan Stepp, Charcoal Drawing; Paula Vaughn, Pastels; June Musick, Watercolor
- Thursday – Matt Tumlinson, Oil Painting; Boyd Harris, Polychrome Abstract; Scott Hardy, Leather Working
- Friday – Joseph Stanley, Fluid Art; Michelle Troutman, Mural Process; June Musick, Water Soluable Medium
The exhibit will also be open Saturday, Feb. 11 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m and there will also be the paint-off competition where the public can watch artists create a complete artwork for judging.
Also, the Gatsby Gang Jazz Band concert is happening February 10th, from 7-9 p.m. Tickets are $35 per person and include the two-hour concert, drink tickets, light hors d’ oeuvres, photo booth, and admission to the exhibit.
