MAY – The May Tigers remained alone atop the District 13-A standings at the midway point of the league race with a 70-28 victory over Baird Friday night.
May (20-4, 5-0) led Baird by a 25-12 count after one quarter, 46-14 at halftime, and 66-24 through three periods.
Braden Steele sparked the Tigers with 23 points followed by Luke McKenzie with 13 and Zach Martin with nine.
May begins the second half of league play at Moran Tuesday.

May Lady Tigers 60, Baird 19
MAY – The May Lady Tigers moved to 5-2 against District 13-A competition and 18-11 for the season with a 60-19 win over Baird Friday night.
The Lady Tigers led 7-2 after one stanza, 32-8 at halftime, and 49-17 through three quarters.
Jordyn Gerhardt paced May with 13 points trailed by McKenna Landes with nine, Emily Woods with eight and Chloe Lord with seven points.
The Lady Tigers hit to the road to tangle with Moran Tuesday.

Bangs Lady Dragons 27, Winters 21
BANGS – The Bangs Lady Dragons avenged one of their narrow losses in the first half of District 8-2A action with a 27-21 home victory over Winters Friday night.
Bangs (2-5 in district) trailed Winters 10-6 after one quarter, pulled even at 14 at halftime, and grabbed a 17-16 lead heading into the fourth period, where the Lady Dragons owned a 10-5 scoring edge over the final eight minutes.
Kasey Solis led the way for Bangs with eight points followed by Neeley Bradley with six, Joey Newton with five, Jadyn Miller with three, Raylee Hutchins and Rylie Guerrero with two points apiece, and Justice Baker with a free throw.
The Lady Dragons make the short trip to Coleman Tuesday night.

Peaster 54, Early Longhorns 19
PEASTER – The Early Longhorns were dealt a second straight loss in District 8-3A basketball action, falling to No. 5 Peaster by a 54-19 score Friday night.
Early (5-4 in district) trailed Peaster 4-2 after one quarter, 22-6 at halftime, and 41-11 through three periods.
Rohyn Price tallied seven points for Early followed by Colton Allen with four, and Jeremy Brown, Jaxyn Price, Andrew Caten and Kaleb Ozuna with two points apiece.
The Longhorns welcome Millsap Tuesday night.

Winters 41, Bangs Dragons 26
BANGS – The Bangs Dragons slipped to 0-5 against District 8-2A foes with Friday’s 41-26 home loss to the Winters Blizzards.
Bangs led 7-6 after one quarter and was tied at 14 at halftime, but fell behind 25-19 through three periods and was outscored 16-7 over the last eight minutes.
Offensive standouts for Bangs were Tyson Woods with nine points, Braxton Wommack and Guy Powell with six each, Guy Funk with three, and Hunter Newton with two points.
The Dragons will head to Coleman Tuesday.

PEASTER – The Early Lady Horns tumbled to 0-11 against District 8-3A competition with an 89-29 road loss to No. 5 Peaster Friday.
