ALVARADO – The Brownwood Lady Lions’ undefeated start to the 2023 soccer season reached its conclusion Saturday, as Wimberley handed head coach Alexis Mosqueda’s squad its first defeat, 4-1, in its final game at the Alvarado tournament.

Ataleigh Constancio scored the lone goal for Brownwood (3-1).

“What an awesome tournament for us,” Mosqueda said. “We grew a lot as a team and had many great moments. The girls’ effort was outstanding through the entire tournament. Wimberley tested us today and these are games we need to improve as a team. We are excited for the next week and for new challenges at home after a week of being on the road.”

The Lady Lions host Marble Falls at 6 p.m. Tuesday in their home opener and welcome Graham at 7 p.m. Friday.
