The following fishing reports are provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the week of January 4:
LAKE BROWNWOOD
SLOW. Water slightly stained; 46-51 degrees; 8.18 feet below pool. Bass are excellent to 6.50 pounds in 6’-10 feet of water on square bills crankbaits and in 8-15 feet of water on jigs. Crappie are slow on minnows. White bass are slow on jigs. Catfish are fair on cut shad drifting or jug lines.
LAKE CISCO
GOOD. Water stained; 58 degrees; 8.04 feet below pool. Catfish are excellent on minnows. Crappie are good on minnows over brush piles. Happy New Year. Report by Jason Miller, Lake Cisco Rentals.
LAKE COLEMAN
FAIR. Slightly stained; 53-58 degrees; 5.18 feet below pool. Target bass on ledges dragging Texas or Carolina rigs, and crankbaits. Crappie are suspended in deep water, or on submerged structure using jigs and minnows. Happy New Year.
LAKE O.H. IVIE
GOOD. Water stained; 50 degrees; 23.02 feet below pool. White bass are fair with live bait and crankbaits. Crappie are fair with jigs and minnows. Largemouth bass are good. Catfish are fair on prepared baits, cut bait and live bait. Happy New Year. Report by Concho Park and Marina.
LAKE PROCTOR
SLOW. Water stained; 52 degrees; 9.03 feet below pool. Target catfish in deeper water with cut baits. Fish are deep chasing the shad. Report by Jeffery Sojourner, Sojourner Fishing LLC.
