The following fishing reports are provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the week of December 21:

LAKE BROWNWOOD

SLOW. Water slightly stained; 53-56 degrees; 7.99 feet below pool. Bass excellent to 7.35 pounds in 4-15 feet of water on Bitsy jigs, squarebill crankbaits or flat sided crankbaits. Crappie are slow on minnows in brush piles 8-15 feet of water. White bass are slow on jigs. Catfish are fair on cut shad drifting or jug lines.

LAKE CISCO

GOOD. Water stained; 70 degrees; 7.88 feet below pool. Channel catfish and bass are good in 15 feet of water with live perch. Crappie are good after sunset using minnows in 20 feet of water. Report by Jason Miller, Lake Cisco Rentals.

LAKE COLEMAN

FAIR. Slightly stained; 53-58 degrees; 5.08 feet below pool. Bass are fair on jigs and crankbaits from 2-10 feet of water. The forecasted wintery blast should shut the bite off causing the shallow fish to become lethargic and slow to bite, so search deeper for more active fish.

LAKE O.H. IVIE

GOOD. Water stained; 55 degrees; 22.88 feet below pool. All we want for Christmas is to catch some fish, but the bite may be slow as we head into a weekend with frigid temperatures. White bass are fair with live bait and crankbaits. Crappie are fair with jigs and minnows. Largemouth bass are good. Catfish are fair on prepared baits, cut bait and live bait. LAKE PROCTOR

SLOW. Water stained; 50 degrees; 8.88 feet below pool. Bait fish are deep and the catfish and hybrid stripers have followed chasing their Christmas meal. The catfish bite is tough but cut shad is outperforming cut carp and buffalo. Report by Jeffery Sojourner, Sojourner Fishing LLC.
