The Brownwood Police Department issued the following press release Tuesday morning:
On Sunday, December 18 at approximately 11:50 a.m., officers were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 400 block of Main St. regarding a report of juveniles playing in the roadway. Information gathered at the scene, led officers to believe that some sort of abuse was occurring between a juvenile and an adult male.
Criminal Investigators with the Brownwood Police Department were contacted, and an investigation began. During the investigation, 66-year-old Curtis Wayne Harrison of Brownwood was identified as the suspect. Harrison was arrested at this time on unrelated warrants.
On Monday, December 19, the investigation continued, interviews were conducted, and a warrant was obtained for Harrison for continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14. Harrison met with investigators and was served the warrant, then returned to the Brown County Jail with a bond set at $100,000.
