Emergency responders were called to a one-vehicle rollover accident Thursday evening around 6:10 PM on County Road 233 south of Brownwood with four occupants in the vehicle.
The Pontiac passenger car apparently left the roadway and rolled, landing sideways in the ditch, wedged between the stone guard railing of the bridge and a tree in the bar ditch.
The first witness to come on scene found three occupants out of the vehicle, with one female lying in the roadway on the bridge. Witnesses on scene said that one male occupant of the vehicle fled on foot. One male and one female occupant were transported to Brownwood Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries, and the fourth occupant was not transported.
Officials on scene said that speed was a likely factor in the crash.
Brownwood Fire Department, Guardian EMS, Brown County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper all responded to the accident.
