Travis Williams went to be with Our Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 11th, 2022, at his home. We rejoice together that he is made whole, is not hurting and is singing with the angels in his new home in heaven. He will be greatly missed by the love of his life and his family and friends. Travis was born to Coy and Gladys Williams in Eden, Texas on February 5th, 1939.

At the age of 21 he met his life’s love while on a double blind date with the wrong girl. He said he was “very impressed” with the other girl and promptly asked her for a date. He married this beautiful girl, Wanda Walker, on July 15, 1961, and they were happily married for 61 years. Travis was drafted into the US Army and served his time at Fort Lewis Army Base in Pierce, Washington. They lived in Washington State until returning to Texas in 1963.

Travis worked as an Area Manager for West Texas Utilities for 35 years in Moran, Eldorado and Rising Star. He was an active member of the Rising Star Methodist Church and loved his church family. Travis loved fishing, water skiing, was the skit-skat (family card game) champion of the world, the “Voice of The Wildcats”, and dearly loved his wife, children and grandchildren. He was very proud of all of his grandchildren.

Travis is survived by the love of his life, Wanda Williams of Cross Plains; his son Kyle Williams and wife Anna of Las Cruces, New Mexico; daughter Gretchin Geye and husband Terry of Rising Star; daughter Gherda Broadworth and husband Mark of Sterling Heights, Michigan; daughter Inga Brennan and husband Mike of Rising Star; grandchildren: Juls, Brandon (and wife Shannon), Chloe (and husband Ryan), Paige, Grace, Bodie, Cade, Lars (and wife Savanna), Wyatt, Luke and Trent in addition to three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and mother and father-in-law.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, December 15, 2022, at the Rising Star Methodist Church, 100 S. Anderson St., with Pastor Mary Henderson officiating, assisted by Pastor Duane Chambers. Visitation with the family will follow the service.
