Howard Payne University receiver Otis Lanier and safety Kyle Bell were named 1st Team All-Region by D3football.com for their 2022 performances of the field.
With 66 catches for 955 yards (14.4) and 11 touchdowns, Lanier led the ASC in Receiving Yards (943), Receiving Yards Per Game (94.3), Receptions Per Game (6.6), and All-purpose Yards (135.5), all in the top 30 in the nation. As a First Team All-ASC selection, he was also among the ASC leaders in Total Points Scored (72), Total Touchdowns (12), and Scoring (7.8 per game). Lanier also has 10 kickoff returns for 88 yards, and nine punt returns for 150 yards, and one TD. He was twice named ASC Player of the Week.
Finishing sixth in the ASC in Total Tackles with 84 (50 solo, 34 assisted), Bell had double-digit tackles in three games with a season-high 15 versus McMurry, being named ASC Player of the Week. A First Team All-ASC selection, he also recorded seven pass breakups during the 2022 regular season.

Players were nominated for these awards by the Sports Information Directors at the various schools, and schools and conferences were contacted multiple times as the season wound down to remind them to make their players eligible. In total, 1,096 players were nominated.
All-Region teams are selected in balloting by sports information directors in each region and D3football.com staff. All players nominated for All-Region are eligible to be considered for the D3football.com All-America Team.
