GLEN ROSE – The Brownwood Lady Lions rallied from a 13-point second-half deficit to force overtime, but were unable to upend Class 6A Odessa High in a 53-51 setback Tuesday afternoon.
Down 39-26 to start the fourth period, the Lady Lions outscored Odessa 23-10 over the final eight minutes to force the extra session. In overtime, Brownwood allowed just four points but managed just a pair of free throws and no buckets.
The Lady Lions shot 31 percent (14 of 45) from the floor, 25 percent (6 of 24) on three-pointers, and 58 percent (17 of 29) at the free throw line. Brownwood turned the ball over 20 times but also pulled down 44 rebound to go along with six assists and three steals.
Hannah Deen led the charge with a double-double of 14 points and 16 rebounds followed by Kassidy Wooten with 13 points, Mady Pyle with 12, Kimber Green with seven, and Miranda Northcutt with five points.
The next action for the Lady Lions (4-5) is slated for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29 as they host Jim Ned.
