During Friday’s final day of early voting, 956 ballots were cast bringing the total number of votes for the Nov. 8 general election to 6,929 – which is 28 percent of the registered voters in the county.
State races on the ballot include Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Comptroller, Land Commissioner, Agriculture Commissioner, Railroad Commissioner, Supreme Court Justice Places 3, 5, and 9, and Criminal Court of Appeals Judge Places 5 and 6.
The only local race on the ballot is Brownwood ISD Board of Trustees Place 7 which features candidates Aristeo (A.R.) Cardenas, Justin Posey, Chelsey Flippin, Francie Clark and Neil Larremore.
