Lady Dragons come in 13th, Dragons 17th at Region I-3A cross country meet

LUBBOCK – The Bangs Lady Dragons finished in 13th place at the Region I-3A cross country meet at Mae Simmons Park Monday.

The Lady Dragons generated 361 points as the four state qualifying teams were Christoval (85 points), Gruver (130), Panhandle (132), and New Deal (135).

Running for the Lady Dragons were Joey Newton (37th, 14:06.8), Rylie Guerrero (66th, 14:47.9), Dyan McCurdy (72nd, 14:57.5), Gentry Shepard (74th, 15:01.6), Kasey Solis (112th, 15:59.3), Kristen Poling (121st, 16:23.7), and Julia Scantling (125th, 16:30.0).

On the boys side, the Dragons came in 17th overall with 411 points produced. The four state qualifying teams were Plains (47), Sundown (133), New Deal (136), and Booker (166).

Competing for the Dragons were Noe Martinez (72nd, 20:43.7), Weston Scantling (74th, 20:53.9), Jayden Gerstenberger (77th, 21:00.3), Rex Guerrero (93rd, 21:32.3), Ben Perez (95th, 21:33.8), Jackson Moore (111st, 22:22.0) and Colten Wagner (121st, 23:06.7).
