Monday, July 15
*10:14 AM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding the theft of a wallet.
*2:30 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 500 block of E. Commerce, Skillets Restaurant, regarding counterfeiting. Employees advised the officer that an unknown suspect passed a counterfeit bill at the restaurant earlier in the day.
*4:55 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 4400 block of Delwood Drive regarding the issuance of a trespass warning.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was called to a residence on County Road 153 regarding an assault. According to the report, the 67-year-old complainant stated that his son, 47-year-old Cary Wolf, had been living with him and when he went to tell the son he needed to move out, Cary attacked him. The deputy noted that the victim had obvious injuries to his face and eyes with blood running down his face and his left eye almost closed, the report states. The victim told the officer that he had retired due to disability from a stroke which had left his left arm useless, according to the report. The suspect was located in the house and stated that the victim had struck him first. Cary Wolf was arrested and charged with injury to the elderly, the report states.
Tuesday, July 16
*8:54 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1100 block of W. Baker Street regarding the theft of an iPod.
*9:27 AM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding found property. According to the report, a pink and white bicycle was left in the alley behind the complainant’s residence. The bicycle was tagged and taken to the Brownwood Police Department impound until it could be claimed by its rightful owner.
*11:17 AM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding an assault. According to the report, the complainant wished to file charges against five male suspects. The suspects were unable to be located at the time of the report, according to the officer.
* 12:18 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1700 block of 8th Street regarding an animal complaint. According to the report, officers arrived and observed a white pit bull running at loose behind the residence. The dog charged officers and acted in an aggressive manor, the report states. Contact was made with the owner who was issued a citation due to multiple calls to the address regarding the dog running at large, the report states.
*1:01 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2700 block of Greenway Drive regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that $420.00 cash had been stolen out of her vehicle by an unknown suspect.
*1:33 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2500 block of Morris Sheppard Drive regarding animal cruelty. According to the report, the complainant stated that a female abandoned a chocolate Labrador. The officer was unable to locate the suspect at the time of the report.
*1:42 PM – Brownwood Police met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding theft. According to the report, an expensive ice chest cooler was stolen from the back of the complainant’s pickup while it was parked at the Earl Q. Wilson Rodeo Arena.
*2:48 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the area of Ten Mile Crossing of County Road 267 regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, a precinct worker stated that he had seen a pickup “mudding” in the bar ditch and that the vehicle had a pair of deer antlers on the front of it. The worker stated that there was a female taking pictures of the vehicle and several small children in the vehicle, the report states.
*3:46 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1700 block of Stewart Street regarding the violation of a protective order. According to the report, the suspect had tried to contact the complainant through a social media website, which is a violation of an emergency protective order.
*5:42 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2200 block of 12th Street regarding the burglary of a habitation. According to the report, a laptop, several pieces of jewelry and a coin collection of an unknown number of coins were stolen from the residence.
*10:22 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Avenue E regarding credit/debit card abuse.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was called to a residence on W. Hwy 67 regarding criminal mischief. According to the report, the complainant stated that someone had been “mudding” on his property and damaged a septic tank under the ground. A registration check on the suspect vehicle identified a suspect who admitted to driving the vehicle at the time of the incident.
*Bangs Police arrested 40-year-old Kevin Wynn Baker of Bangs on a Parker County warrant for failure to appear/non-support child.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 22-year-old Kayla Rae Browne of Brady on a warrant for motion to adjudicate possession of a controlled substance.
*Early Police arrested 17-year-old Mark Winston Johnson for assault and interfere with emergency call.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 20-year-old Jerry Doyle Marney on an indictment for unlawful possession of a firearm by felon and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
*Texas Youth Commission arrested 17-year-old Jessica McClurg for assault public servant.
Wednesday, July 17
*12:09 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of E. Commerce regarding a hit and run at a local hotel. According to law enforcement reports, the suspect vehicle was located by a Brown County Sheriff’s deputy. Both the vehicle and the suspect, identified as 34-year-old Shannon Lee Nelson of Early, were returned to scene where Nelson was arrested by Brownwood Police officers and charged with driving while intoxicated and for flee scene of accident, the report states.
*2:27 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Vincent regarding an assault. According to the report, the victim and his girlfriend had gotten into an argument which resulted in a pair of needle nosed pliers being thrown at the victim by the girlfriend, which stuck through his jeans and into the side of his thigh. The girlfriend was located and denied any physical violence having occurred, the report states. The pliers were unable to be located according to the report. No arrest was made because both parties had separated and no threat of further violence was present, the report states.
