Donnie Wayne Denson, 69, of Brownwood, Texas passed away Sunday, October 16, 2022. A visitation with family will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Thursday, October 20, 2022, at heartland Funeral Home. Chapel service at Heartland Funeral Home will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 21, 2022, with burial to follow at May Cemetery officiated by Brian Hall.

Donnie was born in Crosbyton, Texas and raised in Brownwood by his mother, Virginia Lee Garton and James Garton. He attended Brownwood High School and worked for the family roofing business traveling all over the southern states for over 45 years. He took pride in his work and was the fastest in the business. Donnie was father to 5 children and his family was everything. He loved to Bar-B-Que, play poker, darts and horseshoes because he believed family time was important. His guitar was a part of him and would always come out when he had company so everybody could enjoy the music and singing. Donnie liked to watch all kinds of movies, but Sci-Fi and Horror movies were his favorites. He was always up to go fishing or do anything outside with the kids, he especially enjoyed his trips to lake Livingston. Donnie was a very witty comedian. He would pick at you and get the crowd riled up, but it was always funny and done with love.

Donnie is survived by his sons, Leslie Denson and wife, Alicia of Early, Bryan Denson and wife Rhonda of Early, Jaysun Denson and wife, Martha of Brownwood, and Everett Hollis of Brownwood; daughter, Laci Denson and husband Brian of Sherman; brothers, Maurice Garton and wife, Karen of Lovelady, Kelly Garton of Brownwood; sister, Tammy Miller of Fairfield; numerous grandchildren, James, Kassidy, Bryce, Chris, Matthew, Baily, Triniti, Rowyn; great grandchildren, Jaxon, Karson, Xila; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Donnie was preceded in death by his brother, Rick Garton; daughter, Cassi Denson; his dad and mom, James Garton and Virginia Garton; and his maternal grandparents, Vernon & Minnie Conner.
