LAMPASAS – Vying for consecutive victories for the first time this season, the Brownwood Lady Lions were denied in their quest as they dropped a 25-16, 26-24, 26-24 decision at Lampasas Friday.
Brownwood (4-14) received six kills each from Hannah Deen and Miranda Northcutt, four from Aubrie Felux, three from Emma Ringer, two apiece from Aniah Hines and Ibis Alvarado, and one from Ava Choate.
Ringer dished out 10 assists, Alvarado added six, and Choate and Kassidy Wooten were credited with one each.
Behind the service line, Hines notched four aces trailed by Choate and Deen with three apiece, Felux with two, and Ringer and Wooten with one each.
Defensively, Wooten logged 22 digs followed by Deen with 14, Felux with seven, Choate with five, Hines and Molly Oliver with four apiece, Northcutt with two and Alvarado with one.
At the net, Northcutt recorded three blocks, Hines finished with two, and Choate, Felux and Ringer tacked on one apiece.
The Lady Lions wrap up their non-district schedule at 6 p.m. Tuesday when they host Burnet. District 6-4A competition begins at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Glen Rose.
