During World War II, the Permian Basin supplied over a quarter of the high-octane aviation fuel that kept American planes in the sky and allowed for an Allied victory.
As a fighter pilot, I thought about fuel every second of every mission that I flew. I am so proud of the role that the Permian Basin played in winning WWII through our oil and gas production, bombardier training at Midland Army Airfield, and more.
It was an honor to share my perspective on the importance of the Permian Basin and how it remains a key tool of our National Security today. Special thanks to Joshua Skinner of CBS7 News and Chevron for telling this wonderful story.
One of the major issues facing the United States is Big Tech working hand-in-glove with Washington Bureaucrats to censor conservative voices.
Recently, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg casually admitted during a podcast interview that in the days leading up to the 2020 election, Facebook censored the New York Post bombshell revelation about Hunter Biden’s laptop—a story that would be harmful to then-candidate Biden’s presidential campaign.
According to Zuckerberg, Facebook made the decision to censor the story after the FBI contacted Facebook to warn them of the high likelihood of “misinformation” stories.
Not only did Facebook and other Big Tech social media companies censor the story, but they also squashed all credibility by branding it “Russian disinformation.” Of course, the story was later proven to be true, but conveniently after the polls had closed.
The Hunter Biden laptop story is only one example. We now know that Facebook & the Biden Administration have arranged weekly and monthly calls to discuss what to censor on the platform.
Our Nation depends on the right to free speech, and free speech is threatened when the open marketplace of information and ideas is filtered and limited through the lens of politics.
I am proud to join Leader Cathy McMorris Rodgers and others in introducing the Protecting Speech from Government Interference Act to put stop government officials from using their positions of authority, influence, or resources to censor free speech.
Our bill will impose harsh penalties on any federal employee who engages in political activities in their official capacity. It will also prevent any employee from the Executive Office of the President or Presidential agency appointees from engaging in censorship in a personal capacity.
We will not allow the government to demean the intelligence of Americans by spoon-feeding the narratives that fit whoever is in power at the time and killing stories they think will be detrimental. The American people deserve better.
Washington, DC Finally Recognizes the Southern Border Emergency
This week, Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser declared a “State of Emergency” in her city after Texas Governor Greg Abbott sent a few busloads of illegal migrants from Texas to D.C. It is worth noting that for years now, the radical local government running Washington, D.C. has designated the District as a “Sanctuary City,” meaning they do not enforce federal immigration laws.
Texas and other border states have suffered through over 4.2 MILLION illegal border crossings since President Biden took office, but elites in Washington, DC want it to remain a Texas problem. As a reminder, over 4.2 million migrants (13% of the population of the state of Texas) have illegally crossed the border.
President Biden has made every town a border town, and it is time we get our southern border under control. I have proposed multiple solutions through my position on the House Homeland Security Committee, and am the only Member of Congress to have passed Border Security legislation through the House. I will continue pressing President Biden and Democrats in Congress to alter the policies that have led to the most migrants ever recorded at the southern border.

Parents and teachers are also encouraged to attend.
It will be held in the Midland Army Air Field Museum at 9600 Wright Drive in Midland.
I am excited to share a success story from one of my six district offices. If you did not know, we have a wonderful staff who work full-time resolving issues with federal agencies like the VA, Social Security Administration, IRS, passport office, and more.
Recently, an 84-year-old man in Colorado City reached out to our San Angelo office because he had not received his tax returns for several years after the IRS froze his account following the passing of his spouse. Our office worked with the IRS to unfreeze his account and reimburse $38,000 of unpaid returns. He is now able to help his grandchildren pay for college.
This is just one example of the thousands of cases my offices have solved. In a little over a year and a half, we have returned over $1.2 million back to residents of TX-11.
If you are experiencing an issue with a federal agency, please reach out for help. Call my office at 202-225-3605, or send me an email here.
