The Lady Lions finished with 177 points, which trailed only Goldthwaite (67 points), Glen Rose (83), and Hico (115).
Also representing Brown County at the meet were the Bangs Lady Dragons, who finished 10th with 273 points. Runners from Early, Blanket and Zephyr also competed, but the schools did not send enough entries to qualify as a team.
Leading the way for the Lady Lions was Sidney Windham with a 13th-place effort of 13:43.6 out of 196 runners, followed by Kate Tindol (24th, 14:12.15), Kylea Karnes (44th, 14:35.96), Miranda Northcutt (46th, 14:38.66), Alma Bernal (55th, 14:46.44), Braycee Lee (65th, 14:53.85), Mia Lara (68th, 14:55.2), and Talia Craff (72nd, 14:59.01)
Running Bangs were Joey Newton (20th, 13:57.06), Rylie Guerrero (36th, 14:24.47), Gentry Sheppard (42nd, 14:33.31), Dyan McCurdy (85th, 15:18.71), Olivia Kelly (117th, 16:15.23), Julia Scantling (118th, 16:17.48), Jensine Stephens (126th, 16:26.07), Justice Baker (137th, 16:50.87), Keeli Gordon (140th, 16:58.37), and Gabby Zapata (170th, 18:38.25).
Early competitors included Preslee Richmond (45th, 14:36.97) and Trinity Torrez (132nd, 16:39.58).
Blanket runners at the meet were Kasleigh Kensing (71st, 14:56.21), Ellie Smith (122nd, 16:22.3), Avery Wilson (148th, 17:16.96), and Emily Carper (187th, 21:03.37).
Making the trek from Zephyr were Madison McClain (77th, 15:06.3), Aliana Lopez (108th, 15:55.42), Jordan Chumley (128th, 16:30.18), and Bethany Blair (183rd, 20:19.45)
In boys action, the Brownwood Lions came in 12th out of 17 teams with 290 points. The Zephyr Bulldogs turned in an 11th-place team effort with 275 points, while the Bangs Dragons came in 13th as a team with 336 points. The top five teams were Poolville (70 points), Granbury (71), Keene (87), Riesel (123) and Goldthwaite (192).
Caleb Nelson paced the Lions’ performance with a fifth-place time of 17:04.31 followed by Luke Gray (17th, 18:07.87), Braylon Harvey (84th, 21:48.57), Ty Tindol (120th, 24:47.27) and Kayson Patterson (133rd, 32:25.3).
Competing for Zephyr were Eli Williams (22nd, 18:22.41), Rhett Williams (73rd, 20:45.32), Cash Whisenhunt (74th, 20:46.96), Aaron Fagon (81st, 21:27.5), Johnny Paul Evans (83rd, 21:37.23), and Christian Beard (128th, 27:56.5).
Running from Bangs were Rex Guerrero (51st, 19:46.61), Jayden Gerstenberger (69th, 20:30.25), Weston Scantling (77th, 21:05.73), Colton Wagner (98th, 22:45:16), Jackson Moore (114th, 23:45.58), Austin Loyd (124th, 25:55.42), Adan Jones (129th, 29:35.29), and Braxton Wommack (130th, 29:36.97).
Early was also represented in Hico by Aaron Bass (21st, 18:19.11) and Calvin Clubb (44th, 19:28.57), while Blanket’s Emmanuel McLaughlin (22:15.92) also took part in the meet.
Also Wednesday, the JV Lady Lions came in fourth out of six teams.
