David Wayne McGuire

David Wayne McGuire, age 69, of Brownwood passed away Sunday, August 21, 2022, at the VA Hospital in Temple.

Funeral Services for David will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 26, 2022, at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Brian Hall officiating; private interment will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

David was born on March 24, 1953, to Seabourn and Edith (Lambright) McGuire in Athens. He graduated in 1971 from Roy Miller High School in Corpus Christi. David married Brenda Allen on July 4, 2006, in Brownwood.

David retired from the City of Brownwood. He was a Master Mason of the Masonic Lodge of May. He was also a member of Haven of Hope Church.

He enjoyed camping and fishing, old westerns on tv, and going to watch his grandchildren play sports. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

David is survived by his wife of 16 years, Brenda McGuire of Brownwood; son, Timothy McGuire and wife Laura of Florida; 4 daughters, Jennifer Lawson and husband Curtis of Brownwood, Charlene Lancaster and husband Steve of Brownwood, Crystal Gongre and husband J.R. of Brownwood, Toni Williams and husband John of Brownwood; 16 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Bertie Houck and Londa McGuire both of Brownwood; 2 nephews and 1 niece. He is also survived by multiple cousins, other relatives, and his friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Seabourn and Edith McGuire; 1 brother, Joe Dan McGuire; 1 sister, Clara Cunic; and his father and mother-in-law, Clyde S. and Katherine Allen.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the terrific nursing staff on the 3rd Floor K Unit at the VA Hospital in Temple.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mid-Tex Federal Credit Union under David McGuire.
