Patsy Wheeler, age 96, of Coleman, died Monday, July 18, 2022, at The Court Assisted Living Facility in Round Rock, Texas.
The family will host a time of visitation and reflection from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.
Family and friends are invited to a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Chas Shira, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Gouldbusk Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home.
She was born Patsy Ruth Hogan on June 27, 1926, in Coleman County to James Franklin Hogan and Lucile Judy Ward Hogan. Patsy grew up in Gouldbusk and attended school in Mozell. She married Raymond “Ikey” Wheeler on October 24, 1942, in Coleman. Patsy worked and retired from the Coleman County REA. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Coleman. Patsy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family very much. She will be missed.
Preceding Patsy in death are her parents; her husband; her brothers James, Bobby and, Tommy Hogan; one sister, Kathleen Shipley; and infant sister, Dardanell Hogan.
She is survived by her daughter, Ann Funderburg and husband Allen of Austin; two grandchildren, Brett Funderburg and wife Emily and Tracy Armitage and husband David; seven great-grandchildren, Jake Funderburg, Taylor Funderburg, Claire Funderburg, C.J. Armitage, Reagan Armitage, Brennan Armitage, and Aiden Armitage; one sister, Glenda Gail Thompson of Fort Worth; two nieces, Tina Capps and Bobby Gail Rayon; and one nephew, Barry Williams.
