Sally Whittington Ladyman, 81, of Leander passed away on July 26, 2022 after a struggle with ovarian cancer. She was born April 16, 1941 in Wewoka, OK, the daughter of Lonnie and Bertie Whittington.
Sally had a Masters in Special Education from West Texas State University and taught for 35 years. She devoted her life to teaching. Sally taught with compassion and complete dedication. She was generous to her students and helped many to reach success along the way. She was married to DeTraver Ladyman for 37 years. Now they are together again in Heaven. Sally’s great joy was in her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved them all with her whole heart. Sally’s family gatherings often included others who she welcomed as her own. Sally loved her church families and was an active participant in fellowship and service. She was also a voracious reader, sometimes reading a whole book in a day.
Sally was predeceased by her parents, husband and her sister, Lonna Williams. She is survived by her children, Abby Turner, Richard Altstatt, and Daniel Alstatt: her grandchildren, Rachel Altstatt, Nick Altstatt, Dyani Altstatt, Zach Turner, Alisan Turner, Ashlyn Edwards-Johnson, Sharlene Munoz, Nathan Alstatt, and Alyssa Altstatt: and her two great grandchildren, Juliet and Wesly Edwards-Johnson. Sally would want to include friends who are family, Elaine, Liz, and Rachel Freeland.
A memorial service will be held at 3:30pm on July 31,2022 at Good News UMC, 1610 E New Hope, Cedar Park TX.
