The Early Police Department posted the following on Facebook Wednesday afternoon:
On July 22, officers with the Early Police Department, Early Fire Department, Brownwood Fire Department and Lifeguard EMS responded to 2-vehicle accident on North Highway 183 at Heartland Drive.
A 1999 blue Ford Taurus was attempting to turn left toward May from Heartland Drive when she was struck on the side by a 2021 blue Toyota Corolla traveling south on Highway 183. Drivers from both vehicles were transported from the scene to Hendrick Medical Center-Brownwood.
The driver of the Ford Taurus, Sandra Camp, was later transferred to Scott and White Hospital in Temple.
On July 27, The Early Police Department was notified by the Justice of the Peace in Bell County that Sandra Camp had succumbed from the injuries sustained by the accident.
The accident is now labeled as a fatal accident and will be investigated as such.
