Billy “Bill” Rodgers Jr., age 69, of Brownwood passed away Monday, July 25, 2022, in Abilene.
Funeral Services for Bill will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Slaymaker officiating; burial will follow at Cedar Point Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.
Bill was born on September 10, 1952, to Billy Horace Sr. and Ginger (Barnum) Rodgers in Corpus Christi. He proudly served in the United States Army in Korea.
Bill loved being outdoors, hunting and fishing. He also was a good chef, he loved cooking and barbequing for his family and friends. He had a heart of gold and was very giving on himself. He was a loving father and grandfather.
Bill is survived by his children, Renee Wilkerson and husband Rodney of Louisiana, Mike Henderson and wife Sharon of Alabama, Rebecca Funderburk and husband Vyron of Rising Star, Lynn Henderson and wife Carla of Missouri, and Angie Gaddis and husband Ricky of Louisiana; step-children, George Eldred and wife Terri of Coleman, Cris Eldred and wife Kayleen of Coleman, Salinda Thomas and husband Winston of May, and Scotty Kitchens and wife Autumn of Abilene; son-in-law, James Birman of Coleman; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 5 sisters, Rita Wilson and husband Larry of Rising Star, Diana Malmay and husband Roy of Louisiana, Francis Rodgers, Cathy Heddin, and Diane Rodgers; and 2 brothers, Vyron Funderburk and wife Rebecca of Rising Star, and Bobby Rodgers. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Sr. and Ginger; brother, Johnny Rodgers; sister, Vicki Rodgers; and stepdaughter, of Carmel Birman.
