The Brownwood Police Department issued the following press release Tuesday:

On Sunday, March 27, 2022, officers with the Brownwood Police Department met with a mother and her teenage daughter at the Law Enforcement Center regarding a report of sexual assault.  At this time, a report was generated which indicated that the teenage daughter was in a dating relationship with a male that is approximately 26 years of age.

The Criminal Investigations Division began an investigation and gathered evidence of potential sexual assaults as well as possession of child pornography.  The suspect in this investigation was positively identified as 26-year-old Gino Richard Valadez of Brownwood.  Valadez was interviewed soon after the complaint was filed and admitted to several points of the allegations. 

On March 29, 2022, a warrant was applied for and granted and Valadez was arrested for Sexual Assault of a Child.  The investigation continued and on July 2, 2022, Valadez was arrested for Possession of Child Pornography as his phone was found to have images of a sexual nature between Valdez and the teenage victim.
