In the last seven days, the Brownwood/Brown County Health Department received 56 positive COVID-19 test results. Of the 56 positives this week, 46 of the cases reported were previously unreported by a local medical office and occurred between February 2, 2021 and February 6, 2022; none of the 46 cases are currently active cases and were comprised of 1 PCR, and 45 antigen.
Of the 56 cases reported, 10 cases are recent cases, and none were PCR, and 10 were antigen. Of the total number of cases reported this week, 24 of the previously unreported cases met the breakthrough definition, and 6 of the recent cases are considered breakthrough cases. This includes asymptomatic, mild symptoms, and severe symptom breakthrough cases. There are 0 people currently hospitalized in Brown County for COVID-19.
No new deaths have been reported this week.
The Brownwood-Brown County Health Department is offering COVID testing at their clinic located at 510 E. Lee Street. Testing is by appointment only. If you need to be tested for COVID, please do not walk into the clinic. Testing will be conducted at your vehicle in the parking lot. The Brownwood-Brown County Health Department is offering free COVID-19 vaccinations to all youth ages 5 years or older and adults age 18 years old or older. Vaccination boosters are also available. If a case is not considered infectious, it will not be included in the active case count number.
