A total of 1,439 ballots were cast in early voting for the May 7 city elections and 327 voters went to the polls Tuesday.
Election day is Saturday, May 7 and polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Vote at the following locations:

* Precinct 105: Southside Baptist Church, 1219 Indian Creek Drive, Brownwood
* Precinct 109: Brookesmith High School, 13400 FM 596 South, Brookesmith
* Precinct 113: New Life Assembly of God Church: 1910 Indian Creek Road, Brownwood
* Precinct 202, 204: Brown County Elections Office, 613 Fisk Street, Suite 200, Brownwood
* Precinct 212/214: May Community Center, 19150 Highway 183 North, May
* Precinct 215: Crossroads Baptist Church, 6400 Park Road 15, Brownwood
* Precinct 303: Brownwood ISD Administration Building, 2707 Southside Drive, Brownwood
* Precinct 306: Early First Baptist Church, 103 Garmon Drive (Highway 84), Early
* Precinct 307: First United Methodist Church, 517 Main, Blanket
* Precinct 308: Zephyr Community Center, 11275 CR 281 (Highway 84), Zephyr
* Precinct 316, 318: Northridge Baptist Church, 4875 Highway 183 North, Early

The following local races are taking place within Brown County, with a list of candidates:
- Brownwood Mayor: Incumbent Stephen Haynes, Patrick McLaughlin IV
- Early School Board Place 4: Incumbent Bobby Brinson, Andrew Castanuela.
- Bangs City Council (Three seats): Incumbent Marisa Craddock, Danny Marney, Waymond Sheppard, William Loyd, and Greg Parrott. (Anita Purcell, and Sheila Roberts not seeking re-election)
- Bangs School Board 3-year term (vote for up to two) Incumbent Eric Lykins, incumbent Dennis Sanchez and Sandra Lehman
- Bangs School Board Unexpired term (vote for one) Joshua Purcell, Jennifer Valdez McCoy, and Brooke Loyd. (Jerry Roberts is not seeking re-election)
- Brown County Water Improvement District #1 Board of Directors (vote up to two): Incumbent Bert Massey, Joe Stieber, Brad Simpson. (Ted Simpson is not seeking re-election).
- Brookesmith ISD $9.95 million bond vote (Bonds will used for various projects throughout the district, such as new HVAC equipment, campus renovations and improvements, acquisition of land and a possible football/track and athletic complex)
Early voting for the May 24 county runoff elections will take place May 16-20. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Thursday and Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. All early voting again will take place at the Elections Office. Races include County Judge, Commissioner for Precinct 2 and Justice of the Peace for Precinct 4.
