GRANBURY – The Howard Payne University men’s golf team had two players finish in the top ten to lead the Yellow Jackets to a sixth-place finish at the 2022 American Southwest Conference men’s golf championship held at the Nutcracker Golf Club this week.
As a team, the Yellow Jackets shot a 904 (295-306-303) to finish sixth overall. HPU led the tournament in Pars with 183 and was third in Par 3 scoring at 3.22 and Par 4 scoring at 4.43.
HPU’s Kyle Anderson finished tied for 6th overall shooting a 221 (71-76-74). Anderson ended the tournament with 11 Birdies and one Eagle.
Kaleb Brown shot a 224 (74-77-73) finishing tied for 10th overall. Brown led the tournament in Pars with 36 and had one Eagle.
Harrison Hopson finish tied for 19th with a 230 (75-77-78).
Brady Nelson shot a 232 (75-76-81) and Lucas Kinkade 232 (79-75-78) both finishing tied for 24th.
Jake Angerstein shot a 243 (87-77-79) to finish 44th overall.
